Okay, so maybe it was one too many Strawberry Daiquiris on the beach at sunset… or maybe just way too many
Cheeseburgers in Paradise. No excuses, Professor beach got FAT! 225 lbs FAT. After years of exploring and enjoying beaches around the world it just wasn't fun anymore. No more fun because when I got to the beach I was ashamed to take off my shirt. Ever feel that way?
My last beach exploring trip to Florida really did it. I just sat in a beach chair under an umbrella. Didn't even want to swim or walk on the beach because I was just too uncomfortable in my skin. Just too much of me “in my skin”. Fast forward two months and I'm down to 205 lbs and on my way to a fit and healthy lifestyle. Join me on my pursuit of health and once again walking the beach with my shirt off. Watch my progress and see how I did it here.

Hundreds of cars jammed the roadside along Highway 35 as residents of Half Moon Bay and other nearby communities obeyed a voluntary evacuation warning in preparation for the tsunami’s arrival at 8:08 a.m. today, according to KTVU.com.
KTVU also reports that San Mateo County officials had advised residents in the low-lying areas west of Highway 1 to move to ground east of the highway, according to the county’s emergency alert system.
Residents in the Linda Mar area of Pacifica were advised to evacuate to the east of Adobe Drive. Those in El Granada should evacuate to the east of Coronado Street, according to KTVU.

Ok – so I always wanted to be a Surfer Dude.
Just back from Aruba. I never realized that Aruba is one of the top locations in the world to learn to Kite Surf. Basically your feet are attached to a snow board type board and your pulled around in the water by a huge kite. It’s like surfing but you don’t need a wave. You can move really FAST and get some serious “AIR”. Kite surfing is very popular in Aruba because the water is really calm but there is a substantial wind.
I wanted to try Kite Surfing but after watching the beginners getting dragged around in the water, I thought I should ask a few questions first. Good thing. I found out it typically takes a beginner 8 hours ($500 in lessons) to really get a feel for the kite and be able to stand up in the water while being pulled around by the wind. They start you out on land learning how to control the Kite. After some thinking, I chickened out with the excuse I wasn’t in good enough shape to try out Kite Surfing this trip.
Next time I’m heading to Aruba I’ll make sure I’m ready to learn to Kite Surf. I found this surfing fitness program that I’ll use to get into better shape. Click Here for Surfing Fitness Details! I’ll be able to increase my energy & get fit before I get there. I’ll have the confidence to give it a try!
So Cowabunga Dude – Yup, another time.
(Cowabunga is a slang word from1960s surfer culture, used as an expression of exhilaration when riding the waves.)
